A Flexible Executive MBA Ranked Among World’s Best For International Exposure – Here’s Why

ESCP Europe’s EMBA program is ranked third for international exposure by the Financial Times. EMBA students can study in at least six countries worldwide

For ESCP Europe, one size definitely doesn’t fit all.

ESCP Europe’s Executive MBA program is customizable, lasting between 18 and 30 months. EMBA students can study at international campuses in Paris, Berlin, London, Turin, Madrid and Beirut. 

With the option to study all over the world, there’s a freedom to the course and this is a draw for many prospective EMBAs.

“When I made up my mind to pursue an EMBA I looked at schools worldwide. I work for an airline so travel is not an issue,” recalls Barry Rodgers, a current ESCP Europe EMBA student.

“I researched online and attended MBA fairs and, for me, the international environment was key for my decision. I wanted to cover the core EMBA courses and have the freedom to choose from a wide variety of options to expand my knowledge. ESCP Europe really stood out.”

It’s not just freedom afforded to students, however, it's also the opportunity to build a global network when visiting the different campuses. Those on the Itinerant Track EMBA option rotate across all five of ESCP Europe’s European campuses.

“If you enjoy experiencing different cities and meeting different cultures then being an itinerant student is perfect,” claims Vivian Turfboer, a current EMBA itinerant track student.

“Not only do students get the chance to be on different campuses, the hosting staff organise various events through which you can experience local city life.

“For me, the change of scenery and the enthusiasm of all the staff teams have been very inspiring, and of added value.”

Franck Turmel-Josek, an oil and gas engineer currently on the EMBA program, found that the diversity of students on the Itinerant track enhanced his experience.

“It is very rich in term of diversity and exchanges of experience,” he says. “The other students are working all around the world in different sectors.

“Because we are going to different campuses and have opportunities to work on different courses with other EMBA students, the experience is even richer.”

ESCP Europe’s EMBA program is triple-accredited and ranked 12th globally, and 3rd for international exposure, by the Financial Times. The school’s 50,000-strong alumni network extends across 150 countries worldwide. 4,000 of those are Executive MBA-holders.

“An international mind-set in business is important to understand your business environment. Even if you operate in a local market, there are no guarantees you won't be pushed aside by a competitor coming from abroad,” Franck continues.

“International experience is also vital when you think building a business partnership, when you want to export a successful business, or when you want to build a career without frontiers.

“I decided to pursue an EMBA to change my career path – to go back to school to become more than an engineer with the goal of managing a technical team.

“I want my career to have more of a strategic or financial position in the short term and, in the medium term, I want to work within an Executive Committee. It was obvious for me when I was looking for a new career boost, I needed to acquire more of a holistic view of doing business. This EMBA is the right program for that.”

Vivian agrees. She’s been offered an interim management position since starting ESCP Europe’s Executive MBA.

“I am very excited! And know for sure joining the EMBA has played a relevant role in it,” she says. “It has helped me build an even stronger profile and has opened doors that weren’t there before.”
